Paris Meeting a First Step to a Unified Free Palestine

January 15, 2017, Paris, France:

A delegation of anti-Zionist Orthodox Jewish Rabbis visited Paris on Sunday to offer their support for the Palestinian people at the peace initiative hosted by the French government. They demonstrated in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris.

Neturei Karta spokesman, Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss stated:

“We want to emphasize that we hope this peace conference will be just a first step toward restoring all of Palestine to its pre-1948 borders, enabling all of its people to live in safety and peace. Prior to the era of Zionism, Jews lived in Palestine in security, side by side with the Palestinian Arab population. This is our hope for the future.

“After the recent United Nations resolution condemned the State of Israel for expanding its settlements, the spokespeople of the State of Israel falsely accused the members of the Security Council of being anti-Semitic. This is both untrue and an insult to us, as Jews who believe in justice in the Holy Land.

“We condemn the Zionists for deliberately conflating anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism, a confusion which in the past has led to violence against Jews everywhere. The Zionist attacks against members of the Security Council, and France in particular, must stop.”

The Rabbi expressed admiration for the French president, Francois Hollande, for the vibrant Jewish community that his country hosts and protects. He commented that France today is an ideal environment for Jews, contrary to recent Zionist propaganda that France is anti-Semitic and that Jews should immigrate to Israel.

The delegation also explained the Torah position that the West Bank is not the only illegally occupied territory. Jews have been sent into exile by the Almighty, and any kind of Jewish sovereignty over any territory is a violation of that decree. Therefore, the creation of the State of Israel itself was entirely illegitimate and forbidden. This crime was then further compounded by Israel’s occupation, subjugation and expulsion of another people.

During the demonstration, pro-Israeli counterdemonstrators physically assaulted and harshly attacked the Jewish rabbis. One rabbi was badly beaten on his right eye. Palestinian keffiyehs of others were stolen and burned, while banners and other property was damaged.

At least one of the attackers was arrested, while the attacked rabbis were escorted by the police.

Afterwards, a delegation of rabbis visited the Palestinian mission to France. They presented a gift, which the Palestinian ambassador accepted on behalf of the president of Palestine.

In the late afternoon, the group held a demonstration at Human Rights Square in front of the Eiffel Tower. They spoke to many tourists and were interviewed by members of the press.
