Orthodox Jews Join the Global March to JerusalemAMMONNEWS - About 20000 people of
Jordanians on Friday moved from different
governorates towards the Jordan Valley to
participate in a planned march, to be held as
part of global demonstrations in support of
Jerusalem.
Activists from across the country gathered in
the village of Kafrein near the Baptism Site,
some 10 kilometres from the Kingdom's border with the Palestinian territories,
following noon prayers on Friday.
Four rabbis from the anti-Zionist Neturei Karta group were also taking part in the
march and carried signs reading: "Judaism demands the liberation of Jerusalem and
all of Palestine."
About 200 figures took part in the rally from 82 countries including the fourth
Rabbis of Natouri Karta's group, peace and human rights activist.
Series of rallies across the Arab world that were meant to draw two million
participants for "Global March to Jerusalem," and which had Israeli authorities
heavily deployed at potential border hotspots, were held on Friday in Jordan,
Lebanon and Syria.
