Monsey, NY (October 2 - 12, 2000) - Rabbi David Weiss,
spokesman of Neturei Karta International, has issued a statement
condemning the recent "inexcusable and barbaric murders committed
by Zionists in the Holy Land." He added that, "Many Orthodox
Jews will be joining those of other faiths this Friday in a demonstration
against Zionist cruelty."
The march will assemble outside the Israeli consulate at 42nd Street
and 2nd Avenue between 10 - 11 AM. Protestors will then march down
3rd Avenue till Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, adjacent to the United Nations,
where a host of speakers will address the crowd.
The Rabbi went on to say, "It is inevitable that Zionism,
an atheistic creed at war with the basics of Torah and the Jewish
faith, should yield yet another inhuman atrocity. Strip a man of
faith and the worst often follows."
"The strange and vile Zionist dogma has plagued the Jewish
people for over a century. It violates the basic Torah belief in
Divine exile and redemption."
The Rabbi pointed out, "Many innocent Jews are also now paying
with their lives due to 100 years of Zionist imperialism."
"We stand in solidarity with the suffering Palestinians precisely
because we are believing Jews."
Neturei Karta International is a world wide organization dedicated
to opposing Zionism in the name of traditional Judaism.
