Anti-Zionist
Orthodox Jewish Rabbis Meet with Palestinian
Leaders in Ramallah
March 21, 2006
On March 21, 2006, a delegation
of anti-Zionist Jews in Jerusalem were invited by
the new parliamentary leadership of the Palestinian
Authority to visit them in Ramallah. The visit provided
a wonderful opportunity for Jews faithful to Judaism
unaffected by Zionism to restate the fact that true
Judaism can never be reconciled with Zionism.
At that meeting, the visitors of Neturei Karta met
with senior officials of the major Palestinian political
parties, i.e. Hamas and Fatah, including many senior
members of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) such
as Muhammad Abu-Tir and the Speaker of the PLC,
Dr. Aziz Dweik, and one Arabic-speaking member of
the delegation was interviewed by Arabic-language
news agencies.
In all these interviews and meetings, the members
of Neturei Karta clearly repeated the irrreconcilability
of Zionism with authentic Judaism, and the terrible
sins of the Zionist regime involved in the mistreatment
and oppression of the Palestinian People throughout
historic Palestine. For their part, the Palestinian
leaders of all parties unequivocally reiterated
that their entire dispute is with the Zionist regime
and not with the Jewish People or with the Jewish
religion, and that it is only Zionist propaganda that
argues otherwise.
Both groups look forward to ongoing contact and
cooperation to work on re-establishing the friendship
and neighborliness among Jews, Muslims and Christians
that existed in Palestine prior to the advent
of Zionism.
